Free on-street parking in Eastbourne, East Sussex in the run up to Christmas. Lucy Towson-Bishop (21) had a 'fine' time today as she celebrated parking meters being made redundant in Eastbourne, Hastings and Lewes in the lead up to Christmas. East Sussex County Council are providing free on-street parking for late night shopping every Thursday after 4pm running up to Christmas. The initiative was instigated by the Eastbourne Town Team, a group of young businesspeople in Eastbourne whose aim to leave behind the ‘God’s Waiting Room’ label and re-energise Eastbourne Town Centre.
