This was the first time the 1-150th Assault Helicopter Battalion, New Jersey Army National Guard, has performed FRIES training with their own helicopters and equipment in New Jersey. FRIES is used when a fast exit from a rotary-wing aircraft into a restricted area, including water operations, is required. It provides a method for inserting and extracting special operations forces personnel when an aircraft cannot land. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Mark C.
