Dun Troddan Scottish Broch, Glenelg, Glen Shiel, Scotland, UK. Scottish Brochs are believed to have been built around 2, 300 to 1, 900 years ago. These tall round double walled buildings provided a strong secure dwelling for their inhabitants. A corridor and stairway is often found between the walls. The brochs of Dun Telve and Dun Trodden lie close together near Glenelg in Glen Shiel. The relationship between them is unclear. Dun Telve at just over 10 metres tall is the second tallest surviving Broch in Scotland. There are believed to be between 200 and 500 Broch sites in Scotland, mainly in the North and West. The photo shows the impressive outer curved drystone wall.
