dpa-Exclusive: The artist and architect Yadegar Asisi stands on the bridge on Waldemarstraße with the Sankt-Michael-Kirche (church of saint michael) in the background near the Engelbecken in the Kreuzberg neighbourhood in Berlin, Germany, 12 September 2012. The view of the church was blocked by the Berlin Wall, which used to run along the square and in 1986 Asisi painted a fictional picture of a view through the Berlin Wall at the church seen from West Berlin, titlewd 'Mauerdurchblick' (wall view). The creator of the Berlin Wall panorama , Vienna-born artist and architect Yadegar Asisi, used to live near the Berlin Wall in the Kreuzberg neighbourhood of Berlin in the 1980s. His panoramic view of the Berlin Wall combines his subjective impressions on the basis of recreating a fictitous day in autmn and of everday life of people living along the wall in the 1980s. The construction offers a place of tranquility and contemplativeness for Berlin residents and visitors alike, on a historic location at the Berlin Wall near Checkpoint Charly which is also a hotspot destination for tourists to reflect on the notion of a separated Berlin. The panoramicv exhibition 'Die Mauer' (the wall) opens on 22 September 2012. Photo: Jens Kalaene
