Didsbury, UK. 22nd April, 2017. John Leech is greeted and surrounded by crowds of supporters as he arrives in Didsbury to deliver his first campaign rally speech of the 2017 General Election. Leech was the Liberal Democrat MP for Manchester Withington from 2005 until 2015 when he lost to Labour. Leech was elected to Manchester Council in 2016 as the sole opposition, sweeping up 53% of the vote. He is hoping to regain the Withington Parliamentary seat in the 2017 general election. He promised to fight against a hard Brexit, saying Labour and Conservatives had let Manchester down over Brexit.
