Joined N30 central London march at Embankment around 2pm. Millions of public sector workers had gone on strike against government plans to change pensions, meaning workers would have to pay more to receive less. A march, probably in the tens of thousands, accompanied the strike, and moved off from Lincoln Inn Field's to a rally at the Parliament end of the Embankment. Ken Livingstone and other speakers addressed the crowd, before the majority dispersed. A small number of protesters tried to occupy Panton House on Panton Street. There was a forceful police response. There were several scuffles with police, the most serious and aggressive of which happened on Haymarket and Panton Street. About 75 arrests were made in total.
