Re: It's a strange tale, six tiny feline fugitives have been found nesting with their mum in the most unlikely of places, inside a prison truck at Parc Prison in Bridgend, south Wales. They're named after some of the world’s most famous fictional detectives – but these six felines were almost the latest inmates at Parc Prison. Fortunately for Jessica, Sherlock, Christie, Marple, Kojak, and Morse, these furry cat burglars got an early release after they were found with mum Agatha in the Bridgend prison’s yard. A prison employee found the cat with her six newborns nestled in one of the prison trucks – though how they got there remains a mystery. Cat lovers will be pleased to know that the kittens, and their mother, are now safe and sound, and were given a swift release. With cats having nine lives, a life sentence in the slammer might not have worried them too much, but we're glad they're back on the outside. Staff from Cats Protection in Bridgend were sent to help with the kittens’ prison break – but mum Agatha didn't have a get out claws, and proved more elusive. Kelly Matthews, deputy manager of Cats Protection in Bridgend, was dispatched to aid and abet the kittens’ great escape. She said: “The kittens were an easy catch, but mum was more elusive and, despite help from prison staff, she managed to get away. “They were well behaved but very demanding as they needed bottle feeding every two hours through the day and night.” Agatha wasn’t on the run for long and was reunited with her brood the next day. Staff were concerned she would reject her kittens as they had been bottle fed and handled by humans. To solve the problem, the pint-sized detectives were smeared with cat food to disguise the human smell.
