Former president Juscelino Kubitschek founded the new "City of Hope" with the help of architect Oscar Niemeyer and city planer Lucio Costa. The National Congress is one of the most emblematic buildings of Niemeyer and the heart of brazilian politics. It hosts the brazilian Senate and House of Deputies.
