Blue cornflower or Centaurea cyanus, also known as boutonniere, bachelor's button or bluebottle. this double flowered form is deep blue in colour but the species also includes single row flowers of blue to lilac. Once commonly found in crop fields it is now endangered due to herbicide crop sprays.
