Until recently the privilege of viewing corpses and the human bodys interior has been confined to medical students and anatomists. The invention of plastination - a technique invented in 1977 by Gunther von Hagens - allows the general public access to fascinating insights into the human body. The plastinated bodies trigger controversial reactions throughout the world. However the high number of visitors proves the general populations need to learn more about the structure and functions of their bodies.
