An Austrian hunting hanger,1st half of the 19th century.Straight blade with etched Damascus pattern,fullered on both sides.The lower quarter of the blade bears the etched motto(transl.)"A hunter always wants to catch a plenty without great effort" on one face and a hunting scene on the reverse.The back of the blade inscribed "Pottenstein Widmann Menster".Silver quillons with guard in the form of a stag's head,staghorn grip with silver fittings.Brown leather scabbard with silver fittings and replaced by-knife.Length 72 cm,historic,historical,19th c,Additional-Rights-Clearences-Not Available
