A United Kingdom passport sitting on a Buhl table. A British Passport can be issued to anyone holding one of the various forms of British nationality. As with all Passports it is an indication of the individuals nationality and immigration status. The United Kingdom does not have identity cards and therefore the British Passport is also often used by it's citizens as ID. Buhl is a type of inlaid decoration, typically used in cabinet-work first practised by Boule, a famous designer under Louis XIV.
