Somerset Levels, Somerset, England, UKMore information:
The Somerset Levels are an extensive low-lying natural habitat that is home to a wide-range of British flora and fauna. Some of the area is cultivativated and used for pasture but much is a natural biosphere of meadows and reed-beds. The waterways that criss-cross the Levels are essential for drainage and irrigation as well as providing a life-support system for the flora and fauna that lives there. This image taken in Spring shows a typical drain supporting the natural habitat.
