More information:

A close-up portrait of the scaly-skinned Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) on South Plaza Island in the Pacific Ocean. Its one of the Galapagos Islands, a province of Ecuador, South America. Land iguanas are identified by their yellow-brownish color and shed their skins yearly. Because the Galapagos Islands are very dry, these iguanas get most of the water they need from prickly pear cactus plants. The life span of land iguanas is from 50 to 60 years.
