A pair of Viking tortoise fibulae, Scandinavian, 9th century A.D. Bronze with greenish patina. Two layers, oval, convex shape. The upper layer with openwork portrayals of animals between tendril decoration. Below a riveted, massive layer with remains of the original fastening pin. One fibula completely preserved incl. underlayer, the other brooch partially restored (the lower layer entirely replaced by synthetic material). Cleaned archaeological find.
