Holi is a popular Hindu spring festival celebrated in India. In Vrindavan and Mathura province, where the god Krishna grew up, the festival is celebrated for 16 days in commemoration of the divine love between Radha and Krishna. A legend says that the child Krishna complained to his mother about the contrast between his dark color and the golden color of the skin of his girlfriend Radha. Krishna's mother then decided to darken the skin of Radha with dyes.
