Ijeoma Ewurum used to keep chickens as a hobby but when she retired from her teaching career she set it up as a larger business. She attended a business training workshop with Youth for Technology and signed up to receive Business SMS support. The main examples of success and impact from the SMS are around innovation and improving product quality; as a result she invested in new feed and vitamins and now has bigger and better eggs and heavier healthier birds. What she valued most from the training was learning about capital – she has not heard that word before but now understands the need to reinvest in your business. From the face to face she also valued meeting other women who offered advice.
