This is a "dristela" or "nerotrivi" , the place where blankets, carpets and bockings, are still washed in the Greek countryside. This photo is taken close to Konitsa town, very close to the Greek-albanian borders, in a place called Bourazani. Dristela is a natural, ecological "washing machine", where no chemicals or detergents are used to clean the items mentioned above. The water comes from nearby springs and falls from some height with full power and rush, creating a whirlpool. The power of water is so big that sometimes it takes 4 men to drag a blanket out of the whirlpool.
