A suffrage movement postcard. "For the work of a day, for the taxes we pay, for the laws we obey, we want something to say - Votes for Women." Women's suffrage is the right of women to vote on the same terms as men. This was the goal of the suffragists in the United States and the suffragettes in Great Britain. Postcards were a common medium for carrying these messages. Many artists were afraid to sign these cards but one, Bernhardt C. Wall (1872-1956), did.
