Old advert for a Morny 'French Fern' - a range of women's bathroom products including toilet soap, talcum powder, perfume and bath salts. It appeared in a magazine published in the UK in 1959. Established in 1905 by chemist/perfumer Sidney Goss in New Bond Street, London. A new company was formed in April 1909 under the name 'de Morny' in Regent Street. Reformed in 1918 as Morny Frères Ltd, the company was very successful in France. In 1965 it was acquired by British-American Cosmetic Division, part of BAT. In 1967 BAT bought Yardley & Co and and Morny products were integrated with Yardley’s. Morny was re-launched in 2001 under new proprietors - vintage nineteen fifties graphics for editorial use only.
