Statue of General James Edward Oglethorpe, founder of the Colony of Georgia and planner of Savannah, sculpted by the renowned Daniel Chester French who also sculpted The Minuteman in Concord, MA, and the monumental statue of Abraham Lincoln for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Oglethorpe statue has been the centerpiece of historic Chippewa Square in Savannah, Georgia, since 1910. (USA)
