These police officers waiting to deal with protesters on Princes Street that were taking part in the Carnival for Full Enjoyment which caused disruption on the streets of Edinburgh on the 4th July 2005. The protest was timed to coincide with the G8 summit talks at Gleneagles in Perthshire between July 6th and 8th. Unlike the Make Poverty History Campaign the carnival's aim was to cause as much disruption to businesses by occupying the streets and this lead to confrontation with the police.
