Second Lieutenant Edward Zaptin of Brooklyn, N.Y. receives the Silver Star from Secretary of the Navy, Mr. Chaffee, during a ceremony in Vietnam. Lt. Zaptin serves as the 1st platoon commander for D Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. The event took place on May 26, 1969, and was captured by Sgt W. A. Tuor.
