Date: ca. 1550-1458 B.C.. The scarab's base depicts a falcon-headed sphinx wearing the "atef" crown while subduing an enemy of Egypt. The falcon represents Re-Herakhti - the god Horus when he is merged with the sun. Museum: Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA.
