March 17, 2020, Santa Barbara, California, U.S: In spite of the Corona virus scare, Santa Barbara residents and tourists come out to the Tuesday evening Farmer’s Market on March 17, 2020 to shop for fresh cut flowers, organic vegetables, wheat grass, grass fed meats, honey, olive oils, etc. Much looks normal, but the sight of blue gloves, masks, hand washing machines, and make-shift hand washing stations, along with scant attendance for the usually bustling market, reveal something isn’t right. While some attempt to keep the recommended 6 feet social distance to ward off infection, many seem to forget as they enjoy seeing old friends and neighbors, listening to the street music and stocking up on healthy foods. ..Very few people were seen washing their hands at the handwashing stations.
