Saltstraumen is a small strait near Bodø in Nordland Province in Norway which has one of the strongest tidal currents of the world with 400 million cubic metres saltwater forcing its way every six hours through a 150 meter wide gap. Saltstraumen ist eine 150 Meter breite Meeresstraße in der Nähe Bodø in der Nordland-Provinz von Norwegen. In nur sechs Stunden strömen mit den Gezeiten jeweils 400 Millionen Kubikmeter Wasser mit gewaltigen Strudeln durch diesen Engpass.
