Jan 01, 1940 - New York, New York, USA - The thirty-second President of the United States, FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT was elected to four terms in office, he served from 1933 to 1945, and is the only U.S. president to have served more than two terms of office. Assuming the Presidency at the depth of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt helped the American people regain faith in themselves. He brought hope as he promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, 'the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.'
