Pansfelde, Germany. 03rd Apr, 2021. A stag's head is emblazoned above the entrance to the inner courtyard. Falkenstein Castle in the southern Harz region was reopened to visitors for the first time after a long break due to the Corona pandemic. After booking by phone, visitors can tour the castle grounds as well as experience a falconry demonstration. The castle is situated above the Selketal. The fortified complex was built at the beginning of the 12th century and passed as a fiefdom to the noble Asseburg family in the 15th century.
