One worker carries animal hides from one tannery vat in the next. In the old town of Fes, visitors can take a look at the work in leather tanneries. For centuries, animal hides with bird dung stain and natural alkalis have been processed into finished leather in traditional way in pits in the ground and clay basins, analogue undated image from March 1985.
