On Saturday 13 June 2020, at the call of the Truth Committee for Adama (Traore), nearly 100,000 people gathered at Place de la Republique in Paris for what was to be a march against racism and police violence. But the march, which was due to end at the Place de l'Opera, was cancelled at the last minute by the Paris police prefecture, as all avenues around the Place de la Republique were barricaded by the police.
