COMMANDHR JOSHUA BISHOP, U.S.N. Commander Joshua Bishop was horn in Missouri in1839, and appointed acting midshipman from that State1 Ie graduated at the Naval Academy in 1858, and after theusual sea-service—in the Saratoga, Wabash, Pow-hatan, and Pawnee—was made lieutenant in 1861.
