Nov 25, 2008 - Rahat, Israel - Woman wearing burka. In Israel, tens of thousands of Arab Bedouin fear that the Israeli government wants to seize land they say belongs to them and to put an end to their traditional nomadic lifestyle. The Israeli Arab Bedouin are 160, 000 Israeli citizens, who live in what are called 'unrecognized villages' that don't appear on any maps and don't get basic public services such as electricity and running water. Many Bedouin worry that their traditional pasture lands will be taken for development projects and their livelihoods will be wiped out. (Credit Image: © Rafael Ben-Ari/Chameleons Eye/ZUMA Press)
