Fallas are a Valencian tradition which celebrates Saint Joseph's Day (19 March) when monuments made of paper burn at 12 night. The tradition originates from Middle Ages when neighbors used to get together on the night of the 19th of March to celebrate spring equinox by piling up the old furniture, clothes, etc and burning it as a sign of purification and renovation. Burn the old, welcome the new. Now transformed into impressive monuments that adorn the streets of the city of Valencia for a week before being burned
