NEW YORK, A driver passing by Gramercy . This is a neighborhood landscape in which we find innumerable nineteenth-century buildings , some of which around Gramercy Park, the only remaining private parks in Manhattan. This is an area that is bounded by 14th Street , Third Avenue , 23rd Street and Park Avenue north . It is especially known for being a very quiet despite being surrounded by spaces like Union Square, increasingly crowded area. It's also a pretty safe area. The true hallmark of this neighborhood , the Park continues to set Gamercy . Samuel Ruggles bought the land in 1831 , which at the time was both a swampy area . Clean the area and the water removed designing a project of 66 buildings around a park, only to have the privilege of the owners of the apartments in such buildings . Even today, the privilege is held for those who live there , only a few can access this oasis in the madness of the city. We must also say , pay for the annual rent of a key input , a good sum of dollars annually. Furthermore, it must meet a number of rules within the enclosure.
