Negev, Israel. 02nd July, 2021. A 240-meter-high solar tower, also called "Sauron's Eye," stands in Israel's Negev Desert about 40 kilometers from Be'er Sheva. The tower is surrounded by over 50,000 computer-controlled heliostats. Sunlight is directed to the top of the tower over an area of 3.15 square kilometres.
