Nahum Sokolov (1859 – 1936); Zionist leader, author, translator, and a pioneer of Hebrew journalism. In 1906 became secretary general of the World Zionist Congress. In 1931 Sokolov was elected President of the World Zionist Congress and served as President of the Jewish Agency between 1931 and 1933
