April 5, 2018 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - Joachim Herrmann, Interior Minister of Bavaria. The 2017-2018 edition of the Bavarian Verfassungsschutzbericht (Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Secret Service) report was released detailing threats to the state of Bavaria, including right- and left-extremism, Islamists, as well as Cyber Warfare and Espionage. The report introduced by Bavarian Innenminister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) and Dr. Burkhard Körner, as well as .In recent years, Bavaria has seen a sharp rise in what is known as PMK-Rechts (politically motivated crimes- right wing) due to the Refugee Crisis. The Gruenen (Green Party of Bavaria) illustrated in a press conference on Tuesday that, while many stats have gone down in 2017, further analysis reveals that they have not returned to pre-2015 levels when the crisis began. Their report also criticizes the justice system and the CSU party of Bavaria for lack of prosecutions, missing statistics, despite formal requests, and lack of a Handlungskonzept (strategy) to deal with right-wing extremism. Further points included the increasing armament of right-wing militants with firearms, as well as the possession of weapons by Reichsbürger, the German equivalent of sovereign citizens who have been proven to be deadly.
