February 2, 2019 - Munich, Bavaria, Germany - Uyghur children in Germany protesting with the flag of East Turkestan, which is also known as the Xinjiang Autonomous Province. Over 400 primarily Turkish demonstrators assembled at Munich’s Max Joseph Platz to protest against the so-called “Muslim Crackdown†by the Chinese Communist Party in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China. The region is contains roughly 26 million people, 11 million of whom are the ethnically Turkic Uyghurs who still call the region East Turkistan . The CCP has placed upwards of 1 million Uyghurs in reeducation camps, as well as performing widespread surveillance of the non-Han residents. There are many reports of psychological and physical torture in the camps. China denies the allegations and maintains the camps are for vocational training and to prevent terrorism.
