Miss Dorothy Spittle, of Friary Cottage, Denbigh, is an expert in the traditional and exacting art of ecclesiastical embroidery, she has worked at Liverpool Cathedral for 18 years, retired for the last two years, making and looking after the beautiful and ornate altar cloths known as frontals, one of which took her two years to complete.
