Milton Regis, Kent, UK. 22nd March 2021. Swale Council have announced in partnership with Sittingbourne Society & East Kent Engineering Partnership to enhance the site of an ancient watermill situated within the residential area of Periwinkle Close, Milton Regis. Swale have purchased the area surrounding the mill wheel which dates back to Roman times. Archaeological investigations in the 1960’s found Roman Samian pottery shards on the site, suggesting it’s use as a mill spanned two millennia.
