Marble Ancient Greek Archaic statue of a Woman, found on Delos, circa 650 BC, Athens National Archaeological Museum. Cat no 1. Against white. One of the earlist known monumental statues in stone this statue probably represents Artemis. According to the inscription carved on the left thigh of the statue it was dedicated to Apollo ny Naxian Nikandre. Typical Daedalic style from a Delos workshop.
