People gather on the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Cable St to remember the act of unity against the fascist threat when the Jewish and Irish communities of East London and their allies blocked the streets to prevent Oswald Mosley and his British Union of Fascists marching through. They marched from Dock St along Cable St to a rally next to the mural in St George's Gardens chaired by Jewish historian David Rosenberg and local Bengali activist Julie Begum.
