Also known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery, Tiger's Nest is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist site located 10km to the north of Paro and hangs on a precarious cliff at 3, 120m above sea-level, and about 900m above the Paro valley. The monastery is built around the "Taktsang Senge Samdup" cave, where custom holds that Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated in the 8th century.
