This so-called 'Kelmscott Chaucer' is a true-designed book artwork a real community work, where several people worked together in a workshop community. William Morris, who has selected a classic of English literature with the late medieval author Chaucer, created its own font type for the text of this issue, the so-called Chaucer-Type, which is based on the round-gothic fonts of early prints, and also designed the borders and Initials, his student friend Edward Burne-Jones drew the illustrations for the text that were carried out in wood engraving. The copy of the MKG belongs to the preferential issue, which was integrated by the Doves Bindery in 1903 on wooden lids with blind-stamped pig leather.
