Press Release: His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Field Marshal, Colonel in Chief 1ST The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, takes the salute on Sunday 12th May 2019 at the Annual Parade and Service of The Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association at the Cavalry Memorial adjacent to the Bandstand in Hyde Park. 95 years on from the unveiling and dedication of its memorial in Hyde Park the Cavalry and Yeomanry will again gather in traditional sartorial style to honour those members of the Cavalry and Yeomanry who fell in World War 1 and in subsequent conflicts. Two to three thousand serving and former Cavalrymen with their families and visitors are expected to attend the event with 3 bands leading the marching detachments of the Cavalry and Yeomanry Regimental Associations in the annual parade which is famous for the Officers’ “walking out dress” of bowler hats and furled umbrellas.
