History of Spain. First Carlist War (1833-1840). Battle of Villarrobledo (20 September 1836). It took place in the area known as Vega de San Cristóbal, on the outskirts of the town. The Carlist troops of General Miguel Gómez were defeated by the Royalist army of Isidro Alaix, which had received cavalry reinforcements from Diego de León's Hussars. Illustration by Antonio Gómez.
