Greece, Athens on 2023-01-17. The large Spyrídon-Louis Olympic complex was built especially for the games, including a large structure of arches in a row known as the "agora", as well as the huge Olympic Stadium. Still frequented by a few sports enthusiasts at the end of the day, the site is poorly maintained and deteriorating rapidly. It also houses the Olympic aquatic centre, the Olympic gymnasium, the Olympic velodrome and the Olympic tennis centre, making it a prime example of the kind of sports infrastructure that was built for the Games.Photo by Martin Bertrand. Le grand complexe olympique Spyrídon-Louis fut amenage spécialement pour les jeux avec, entre autres, une grande structure d’arches en enfilade nommee « agora » ainsi que l’immense Stade Olympique. Encore frequente par quelques sportifs en fin de journée, le site est tres peu entretenu et se déteriore a vue d’oeil. Accueillant egalement le centre olympique aquatique, le gymnase olympique, le velodrome olympique et le centre olympique de tennis, il apparait comme l’exemple de l’exces des infrastructures sportives construites pour les jeux.Photographie de Martin Bertrand.
