Gera, Germany. 21st Jan, 2023. Frank Hrouda shows a molar from an adult mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) at the "Prehistory Day" in the Natural History Museum. The molars of adult mammoths and mammoth calves from the Lindenthal Hyena Cave, which are preserved in the museum, were in danger of decay. Thanks to a special preparatory treatment in Goch, the teeth found in 1874 in Gera-Pforten could now be secured and preserved for the future. Credit: Bodo Schackow/dpa/Alamy Live News
