The whiffletrees should be short that the trees and plants may not be injured. A strong animal is required, and the plough must not come too near the trees and plants. The Cultivator supersedes in a great degree in market gardens the necessity of hand-hoeing among the main crops. By passing it over once a week between the rows, all the hoeing required is a narrow strip of a few inches in the row.. THE WHEBLBARBOW.
