An exquisite, fully restored Travel Air Type R Mystery Ship, the second of the series that was built entirely in secret at the time in the late 1920s, early, 1930s. Five were built in total for racing by some of the most notable airmen of the day, Jimmy Doolittle, Doug Davis, Frank Hawks and Pancho Barnes. This is the NR-613K aircraft, initially powered by a 6-cylinder D-6 Arthur Chevrolet Aviation Motors Corporation engine, developing 165hp at 2, 175rpm. The NR-613K won the Experimental class at the 1929 National Air Races. It was later converted back to a radial-engined version.
